Hinweis zur aktuellen Situation: Aufgrund der derzeitigen Verbreitung des Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 wird die Abschluss-Fachkonferenz 2020 der Fördermaßnahme "Kommunen innovativ" verschoben. Die Veranstaltung wird nun voraussichtlich am 18. und 19. November 2020 in Wuppertal stattfinden.

In der Fördermaßnahme „Kommunen innovativ“ haben 30 Verbundvorhaben aus Wissenschaft und Praxis vielfältige Ansätze entwickelt, um die Auswirkungen des demografischen Wandels zu gestalten und damit zur „Zukunftsfähigkeit“ der Kommunen und Regionen beizutragen.

Auf der Fachkonferenz 2020 blicken wir kurz vor Abschluss der Verbundvorhaben unter der Frage „Was macht Kommunen innovativ?“ auf die Ergebnisse aus der Fördermaßnahme. In sechs Themenräumen präsentieren wir zukunftsweisende Ansätze, die von Infrastruktur- und Mobilitätslösungen über die Stärkung regionaler Arbeitsmärkte und die Entwicklung neuer Finanzierungsinstrumente bis zum Flächenmanagement das Spektrum von „Kommunen innovativ“ abdecken. Themenübergreifend steht dabei immer die Zusammenarbeit unterschiedlicher Akteure im Mittelpunkt – sie ist der Schlüssel für die Entstehung und Umsetzung innovativer Ideen, Ansätze und Instrumente. Die Veranstaltung wird viel Raum für Dialog und Erfahrungsaustausch bieten und durch ein interessantes Rahmenprogramm in Wuppertal abgerundet.

Wir sind überzeugt, dass die Ergebnisse der Fördermaßnahme bundesweit wichtige Wege für eine nachhaltige und zukunftsfähige Entwicklung von Kommunen aufzeigen. Daher richtet sich die Veranstaltung explizit an Vertreter*innen aus den Ministerien und Verbänden, aus anderen themennahen Förderprogrammen sowie an kommunale Vertreterinnen und Vertreter.

Eine Einladung mit detailliertem Veranstaltungsprogramm und Hotelkontingenten folgt innerhalb des Jahres 2020. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt ist auch die Anmeldung möglich.

Current situation: We are closely following the COVID-19 development, WHO and German official policies and recommendations. We hope that we all stay healthy and that the URP2020 will take place in Leipzig in November. We will consider alternative forms (online) or timing of the event in due course.

Under auspices of the Minister of the German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) Anja Karliczek, the conference "Sustainable & Resilient Urban-Rural Partnerships – URP2020" will take place in Leipzig, Germany, 25-27 November 2020.

Regions are of critical importance to achieve the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda including the Sustainable Development Goals and the HABITAT III objectives. By focusing on sustainable and resilient urban-rural partnerships, the international URP2020 conference aims at developing new urban-rural imaginaries, integrating strategies and projects that explore present and future potentials in terms of sustainability and resilience.

The URP2020 will bring together and connect scientific insights and enlightening experiences of on-going projects in practice. Join a stimulating conference that fosters learning on various levels, i.e, from the local level via entire regions to the broader European understanding of integrated urban-rural development. We offer a forum for exchange and support the co-design of ideas to tackle the challenges for sustainable and resilient regional development.

Sustainable Technology and Development 2020 aims to pave the pathway toward achieving sustainable development goals by enhancing communication among different research areas and different shareholders.

Global leaders from both academia and industry will give an overview of the latest advances in their fields in a series of inspiring plenary lectures. A topical interdisciplinary programme will include selected contributed talks arranged within parallel sessions and poster sessions for which abstracts are invited. A series of training courses and workshops will take place immediately prior to the conference.

Global experts will give plenary lectures and lead discussion on the following key topics:

• Sustainable Technology
• Sustainable Living
• Sustainable Society

Contributions to the programme are invited by 6 November 2020 on these conference topics. Abstracts are invited for talks and the large poster sessions.
