Innovations in Regional Management of Public Services through Optimised Support of City-State-Cooperation

In many places, the demographic shift is already having serious effects on public services and institutions such as schools and kindergartens, transportation, retail business and healthcare. In many communities there is the danger that the decline in population and aging of the remaining population will lead to a “downward spiral of demographic change”, meaning in practical terms that community services will continue to decline and that the problems associated with this decline will only worsen. The Innovation Group UrbanRural Solutions is therefore researching the question, how the consequences of the demographic shift can be dealt with through improved regional cooperation among the communities affected.
