Designing Integrative Innovation Processes: New institutional and regional Forms of Coordination for Sustainable Land Management

Along with water, land is one of our most important resources: It is habitat, the basis of all our foods and our home all at the same time.  However, land is often not used sustainably enough, which has consequences for soil, flora and fauna. At the same time there are already more sustainable solutions for example in organic farming, which are not used on a large scale and have low market-relevance. The Innovation Group ginkoo devotes its attention to the social and economic questions of how these “niche solutions” can become more socially and economically significant through new forms of coordination. It is being investigated on the basis of two examples in the German State of Brandenburg.
